Vetrivel Murugan

Vetrivel is the first student we visited for Dry Ration. He is a Down syndrome student. When he saw us, he thought that we came to bring him back to school. So, he was startled and refused to move from where he was sitting. We convinced him by saying that we are going to take a picture together and he then he cooperated with us. His mom was so delighted upon receiving this offer.

Fathima

We had tough time in finding Falima’s house. She is living with her grandma in a house for rent. She was so happy to see us. She invited us with a wide smile and even told her neighbours that people from her has come to visit her. Her grandma was unable to go to work for about 3 months due to this pandemic. Her grandma told us that we reached them at the right time and thanked us a lot for that.

 



Merlin Joyce Mary

Her house was under renovation when we reached her family. Her family was working along with the workers to rebuild their house. They were really grateful for the help they received through Dry ration.

Hepzi

When we visited her house she was sitting silently in a cart which was quite unusual. But her mother seemed to be happy to receive the offer. I had head ache when we visited her house but after coming back I received a call from Hepzi’s father. He told me that Hepzi asked him to check on me whether I’m alright now. It was so kind of her.

Marimuthu

Marimuthu’s father passed away 6 months back. His family was so happy to receive this offer and they even told us that we helped them at the right time. The family’s income depends on beedi making.

Joel

This household has three children and all three of them are mentally retarded and they are all studying in our school. Since their mother has to take care of them, she’s not able to go to any kind of work and due to the lockdown their father was also not able to go to work. So, this help was very much useful to them and they were really happy upon receiving it.

 

Jesuraj

Jesuraj’s house is located in a forest area. His mom is a mild mentally retarded and so his father abandoned them. They are now under the care of his grandmother. Jesuraj received the things and he kept it safe under a cart. His grandma was so happy to receive this help from us.

Essaki muthu

Esaki muthu and his family are living in a very small house. His parents work for daily wages. So, they were very grateful for receiving such a help at the right timing.

 

Pugalendi

Pugalendi is an adopted child for his parents and he is a down syndrome child. His father has passed away and his mother is taking a good care of him. We heard from his mom that he is working in old paper shop for a wage of Rs: 50. Upon our arrival his mom went to the shop to fetch him and they received the things happily

Padma:

Padma was neatly dressed when we visited her house. Her household is quite rich but they received our help happily.

David Rajan

David and his mother are living with his grandparents. His mother is mild mentally retarded. She said that due to lockdown she was not able to go to work and so we helped at the correct time. They were grateful to receive the things. The family owns a house.

 

 

Parvathi

When we visited Parvathi’s house she was neatly dressed and stayed quiet. Her parents are now building their new house. They were happy and grateful to receive our help.

 

 

Bharathi

Bharathi is from a very poor family. She has two sisters and both of them are studying in Sarah Tucker Higher Secondary School on free boarding. They don’t have both parents and so they are living with their grandma. As she is at home she has become lean. So, they received our help whole heartedly and happily.

 

Thamayendi

Including Thamayandhi their family has 5 children out of them 3 are mentally retarded. Thamayandhi and her sister Elavarasi are studying in our school. Their parents are coolie workers. They were very happy to receive the things.

 

 

Ponvelmurugan

He is living with mother and grandma. He especially likes to do things related to farm work. When we visited their house, he and his mother went outside to take care of their goats. So we gave the things to his grandma. They sent us a photo after they returned home and expressed their happiness.

 

 

Gopi

When we visited Gopi’s house ne welcomed us happily. He seemed to be quiet compared to when he is at school. His family was happy to receive the things.

 

Tamilselvan

We went to Tamilselvan’s home after contacting them. When we arrived both his parents went to coolie work and only his elder sister was at home. There is also another child in their family who is severely affected (C.P child 0. His sister received the things happily.

 

 

Chellammal

Chellammal always comes to school well dressed, so we thought her family is quite rich. But we were so short sighted; because we came to know that she is from a poor family when we visited her. They are living in a very small house and they were really happy to receive the help.

 

 

Jai Krisinth

His family is quite well off. When we visited his house, the family welcomed us with so much love. They received the things happily and even served us some fruits to eat.

 

Marisivan

Mariselvan has been going to work in hotel along with his father when we visited; he was sick due to fever. His father used to get a pay of only 300 for his hotel work. So, his mother said all the things were enough for them and thanked us through phone.

 

 

Usha

Usha has three sisters and they are all married. Now she and her mother are living with her second sister. She was quite ill when we visited her. They happily received the things and thanked us for the help.

 

 

Tharun

When we visited Tharun’s house the first question from his mother was, “When will the school reopen?” Because he is finding it difficult to stay inside home always. So she was a bit worried. They received the things happily.

 

Godson

Godson is the son of one of our school’s staff (Teacher). He has heart problems so he is now under treatment. With many hospital bills to be paid, his mother said that the things were really useful as it met all their current needs. They were very thankful to receive the help.

 

 

Murugesan

We contacted Murugasan’s family before visiting his house. Even then he was not at home when we arrived. So, they went to find him and brought his back home. He doesn’t a mother and he is living with his father and sister in a small house. They were very happy to receive this help.

 

Vasantha Perumal

Vasantha perumal is a severely affected child. When we visited his home he has gone to care for the goats with his parents. So we gave the things to his sister and she was happy to receive them.

 

Mariammal

Mariammal’s mother called us and asked if we are giving food supplies for students. She also told that her husband abandoned her and her child and that she is in need. When we gave the things to him and his mother they accepted with teary eyes and a grateful heart.

 

Manoj

Due to lockdown we were not able to reach his home. So, we asked his parents to come to school to receive the things and they accepted the help happily.

 

E. Essakimuthu

There are totally 3 children in his family including him and all three of them are mentally retarded. His parents run their family by working at a fishing place. So, they were really happy to things from us.

 

Kanga

Kanga’s mother is mild mentally reatarded. His brother is working for fewer wage and both his mother and brother are living with her grandparents. Meanwhile Kanga is staying with us in school. So when we visited their house they were all happy to receive our help.

 

Subramaniyan

Subramaniyan doesn’t have parents. He and his brothers are living with his uncle (mother’s brother). They were happy and grateful to receive the things.

 

 

Praveen

Praveen and his sister Princy are both studying in our school. Praveen has also completed up to 8th grade in a middle school inside our campus. When we told his father about this help we are providing for student’s families; he visited the school with son, Praveen and received the things happily.

 

 

Samuel

Before visiting Samuel’s house, we called his mother but she thought that we called them to deliver some teaching material. So, she didn’t respond to us properly. Since his area is affected by corona we asked them to come to a nearby place to get the things. Samuel and his father received the things and thanked us. After that his mother called us and told that she was not aware that we are going to help them in this way and expressed her happiness. They have eating ration rice for the past few months so she thanked us for the help.

 

 

Jelsy Kanmani

When we went to Jelsy’s home her mother was not there. Sp, we gave the things to her sister and aunt. They were happy to receive the things.

 

 

Arul

Arul’s mom passed away due to cancer in the May month. So, he is now living with his grandma. When e visited his house we noticed that his sister is also mentally retarded. They received the things and told us that we helped at the right time.

 

Thangaraj

Thangaraj’s father received the things and told us that it’s not possible to get works during this pandemic but you helped us at the right time. They were very grateful.

 

 

 

Manonmani

Due to lockdown we were not able to reach his home. So, we asked his parents to come to school to receive the things and they accepted the help happily.

 

 

Pradab

There are totally three children in pradab’s house including him; all three of them are mentally retarded and two of them are studying in our school. When we visited their house Pradab was not in the house and his brother Esakki muthu thought that we are there to take his to school. So, he removed his shirt and immediately went upstairs. So, we gave the things to brother and mother, they received it happily.

 

Narayana Moorthy

When we went to visit Narayana Moorthy, his family was not there in the given address. We enquired about them to the neighbours and even they were not aware about his family’s whereabouts. When we were searching for his house we encountered a old grandma with her severely affected mentally retarded grandson. She asked us to help them in any way possible. Instead we gave the things to the grandma and her grandson. They were so grateful to receive the things.

 

 

Kanagadurai

Due to lockdown we were not able to reach his home. So, we asked his parents to come to school to receive the things and they accepted the help happily.

 

 

Sudalaiyandi

Due to lockdown we were not able to reach his home. So, we asked his parents to come to school to receive the things and they accepted the help happily.
